Guernsey What A Spectacular Place To Visit

I am writing this piece while sat on the ferry after having holidayed in Guernsey for the week with my family.

I'm fortunate enough to spend some considerable time on this charming Chanel island with my work but it is only the second time that my folks have come with me. We stayed in a friendly hotel in Guernsey named the Rocquettes which is situated in the harbor and capital of Guernsey St Peter Port.

St Peter Port or town as the Guerns call it is the capital of Guernsey and is a great place to stay when checking out the island with plenty to do and see. It is completely full of quaint tiny shops and as the island is VAT free there are some great little deals available.

There are some glorious restaurants in Guernsey that cater for all tastes and being a harbor the fish restaurants are especially good with a lot of fresh locally caught fish on the menu.

There also are some great lively pubs on the island with masses of character and some that serve tasty food including "The Swan Inn" in St Peter Port which is listed in the Michelin guide, or perhaps the bar on the beach at Cobo Bay where you can watch the sunset while enjoying your favourite.

The beaches on Guernsey are impressive to say the least as are the cliff top walks with wonderful views, and anyone who likes to do a bit of fishing couldn't go to a better place. I took my child George and my Father in law out on a fishing expedition with one of the local fisherman and cannot believe the number and assortment of fish that we caught. We even got the chef back at the hotel to prepare our evening meal with a few of them.
